Hello NAME
Lots going on this week! We’re starting the next round of How to Sell Your Art 101 on June 26 (see below).
Saw some awesome videos of artists showing off their successes this week, and Tasha Roth really nailed it when she pointed out that any time you put your prices online, someone gets upset, so why not go big and start at $5,000?
I sat down and recorded a podcast with Maria Brito to answer that question and got this gem of a quote. “My mission was to open up the doors of this obscure, snob world of galleries and auction houses, and give people a gateway to that world.”
TOMORROW June 13, I’m teaming up with Artplacer to host a class on optimizing your artist website for sales. You can learn more and join us at this link. Also, be sure to check out ArtPlacer’s Instagram for awesome tips on selling art through your website.
Note: they’re not paying me to do this one. I just think they’re a cool app and good people trying to help artists succeed.
Our flagship course for learning how to sell art is doing our next live session starting June 26. Learn more here: https://theabundantartist.com/htsyao101
That’s it for this week!

We had previously gotten together to discuss their marketing plans, and in this follow up, some of them had struggled to follow through on their plans. What came up is a common theme I hear from a lot of artists: “I got discouraged by negative feedback and isolation.” We’ve all been there....

Hi Reader Last week I wrote a new blog post on the effect of AI on fine art businesses. The post had some great and thoughtful responses via email (people don't really comment anymore). A lot of artists are understandably upset about the mere suggestion that AI might be used anywhere in the creative process. As one reader said, creativity should remain in the hands of humans. See a great video discussion about this on Steven Zapata's YouTube channel. My response to that reader was that I'm...
